The quality of CGI is incredible, some of the best I've ever seen, the animals are amazing, Baloo and Shere Khan in particular, you get the impression that this film was a labour of love for all concerned. The meeting with Louie, also mesmerising. Lots of great scenes, some feel lesser than the animation, some seem greater and better developed, I loved that moment where Mowgli encountered Kaa, Scarlett Johansson did a phenomenal job, that voice of hers blew me away. It's moving, it's fun, it's quite an enchanting film, for a real life animation, this actually blew me away. What can I say, against all of my expectations, I utterly loved it, it feels so familiar, and yet it is so different. I approached this film with a degree of caution, as the original was a firm favourite of mine, a real staple of my childhood. Man cub Mowgli is encouraged to turn away from the family of Wolves that raised him in the jungle, and to turn to the human settlers nearby.
